A change of opinion on Jason Gore
Mood:  cool
After the U.S. Open, I was not too big on Jason Gore, the golfer who was in the final pairing on Sunday but shot an enormous score and came nowhere near winning. However, I've started to cheer him on, I guess because I've started cheering for another golfer I didn't cheer for in the past, Phil Mickelson. Hopefully he does well on the PGA Tour, although it will be much rougher than on the Nationwide Tour.

NCAA Football 06
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: NCAA Football 06
Topic: NCAA Football 06
Penn State has won the first national title of NCAA Football 06! They remain the only one of the eight teams my sister and I run that has yet to lose a game, as we are now in our second season.

On to 06!
Mood:  a-ok
Now Playing: NCAA Football 06
While I got back into Madden 2005 long enough for a tenth season, which the Packers ended up winning Super Bowl XLVIII, I now have NCAA Football 06- and love it. It is spectacular, with the Race For The Heisman mode just making it better. I have it for the Xbox, a change from the past, as I had 2003 for the Cube and 2004 and 2005 for the PS2. My teams are currently Penn State, Navy, Ohio, and Soviet Union. My sister's teams are currently Junktown, UConn, Baylor, and North Texas. I will have NCAA Updates similar to the Madden Updates.

By the way, today marks one year since I edited this site completely to make it look like it does now.

Boring-ness
Mood:  down
Now Playing: A dull day
The dull look of this blog is not my fault. I've tried long and hard to customize the colors to it, and nothing happens. It stays all dull like this, unfortunately.

There wasn't much good that happened today for me. The only interesting thing maybe was my experiment in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005, making Pebble Beach as Tiger-proofed as possible. The course became so hard that I was +5 through 3 holes. Maybe that was a little too difficult, so I'll have to tone it down a bit.

The Start of the Crazy-ness
Mood:  chatty
Now Playing: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005
Topic: Golf
You may see all this Madden stuff on this site, but every play of Madden is starting to become agonizing to me. Winning by 80+ points on a regular basis gets boring, so that game's over with for me for now. I'm on to Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005, an excellent golf game. The commentators are hilarious and there are almost too many things to do in this game. I only wish for more playable golfers (Ernie Els, Phil Mickelson), more courses (Augusta, Pinehurst No. 2, Shinnecock, Oakmont), and the game to resemble the PGA Tour in its scoring... why does it take -40 to win a tournament? Some players don't get -40 in a season. I'm going to Tiger-proof some of these courses until they don't resemble golf courses anymore, and then play my own tournaments, so hopefully the difficulty is real.

Speaking of golf, Tiger Woods may be the best golfer in the world, but Sunday at the U.S. Open proved even at his best he's not that much better than everyone else, like he used to be. A birdie at #17 may have forced a playoff. Instead, he three-putted for bogey. I bet he wins the British Open, with a strong challenge from my favorite golfer, Ernie Els, who I hope wins.

Jason Gore? Don't get excited about this guy. He had three good rounds. Put him on the PGA Tour for a year and he'll be shooting +14's on easier courses. The number to remember with him is not 0, or even par through three rounds, but #818, his ranking in the world coming into the U.S. Open. I doubt he ever gets that "close" to winning a major again- and a tie for 49th isn't that close, either.

Since this is my first entry, I might as well tell some information about me:
-I am a born-again Christian.
-Favorite music group: Roxette
-Favorie song: "Drops of Jupiter" by Train
-Favorite football team: Green Bay Packers (what a surprise!)
-Favorite baseball team: Oakland Athletics (Pittsburgh Pirates are a close second)
-Favorite hockey team: Pittsburgh Penguins
-Favorite golfer: Ernie Els
-Favorite video game: Super Mario Bros. 3
-Favorite television show: The Price Is Right

Now my stuff of the week:
-Video game: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005
-Song: "Joyride" by Roxette
-Sporting event: U.S. Open, won unfortunately by no-name Michael Campbell
-The Price Is Right pricing game: That's Too Much!
